Harry's put out a statement about turning 40. The article is pretty much full of padding in order to make it long enough to post, IMO, it's a pointless statement for Harry to make. But it's in line with most of the statements he and Meghan put out.

I'm eyerolling at the idea that Harry needs a break from his hectic schedule of pseudo-royal tours and accepting awards and polo.

“Continue showing up and doing good in the world”. I have a feeling his wife wrote that. I’m a little confused how the faux tours and purchased awards do good in the world? I guess there’s still Invictus. Although sometimes I think it would do better to be disassociated with the Sussex stank. Nice that the English members of the Sussex Survivors Club must be feeling vindicated. As an aside, I haven’t seen Ginger post here for a while. I hope she’s okay.

The British press are way more invested in Harry making amends with his family than his own family is….. Thet just want Harry back in the fold for the drama.
I can see how the BRF were damned either way. If they ignored the bday then there would be screeching from Sussex sources about his unkind family snubbing him. They try to be the bigger people and wish Harry a Happy Birthday and now it’ll be non-stop, “is there are thawing towards Harry”, “Will Charles invite Harry for Christmas”, “Can William stop being such as asshole towards his little brother”.

They always wish Harry, Meghan and the kids Happy Birthday so that they can't be accused of ignoring them or bullying them. They post more about the Sussex birthdays than they do anyone else.
The press has been writing about olive branches and reconciliation since Philip's funeral at least and it hasn't happened yet. They're pretty bored of writing "feud still on" by now.

The Royals did move to only wishing working royals a Happy Birthday over the last few years so they stopped wishing Harry & co. a Happy Birthday on their social media accounts. Only the press kept bleating that this was a huge milestone birthday for Harry hence they felt pressured to break from not acknowledging it.

And royal journalist Roya Nikkhah wrote an article saying the public wants them to resolve things. Um, no, I see the press clamouring for it but I think the general public mostly don’t care/don’t want a reconciliation. Olive branch. 🤮

What's interesting to me is that they're family. Father and son. Brother and brother. Families can be messy. Brothers can hate each other sometimes. But, they're family. The public who doesn't want them to speak to each other is perplexing to me. Why are they so invested in a permanent fracture?
Does there really have to be a villain and a good guy in this situation? Can't they all be messy?

Olive branch. 🤮 I can't speak to this because I'm not a citizen of the UK, but I do know people in the UK and they say his popularity is very low, Meghan's even lower. Polls in the UK seem to back that up.
