Please let his new show start before the 2016 elections. I might even pay for HBO if it does!

Ooh, I'm all for that, too!
John Oliver always told him that HBO (or premium cable) was the way to go.

So this means he will continue epic and flawless dragging of faux news? That is all I want in life as I cannot stand his replacement's voice and constant laughing at his own jokes.

How has no one posted this article yet? He and his wife have opened an animal sanctuary in New Jersey. Just when you thought you couldn't love him more! NY Times article

I think it was discussed in the Daily Show thread--in any case, Tracy was interviewed on Fresh Air on Tuesday, and she seems so funny and very real.

I read that article at UpWorthy. The photo showed Jon giving a rescued pig a little massage and saying,"That's a good girl.'

I listened to the Fresh Air interview and it told me so much about Jon even though he's not mentioned. Tracy is a really happy-sounding person with a HUGE heart who did not appear to have an ounce of pretension in her body. I dunno--she just sounded so genuine and authentic and optimistic. That this is the person that Jon Stewart chose warms my heart.

I'm a little surprised to hear about the new show. I thought he wanted to retire and spend more time with his family. A weekly show would be fine time wise, but why not just cut back on his schedule at TDS? I wonder what his old cast and crew think. :/

I wonder what his old cast and crew think. :/ It sounds to me that the HBO project will not take up nearly as much of his time as doing a show every day did. I don't think they've released yet just how frequently he will post content (and digital content at that, so it probably won't require a big studio with a staff/crew). I think he's just doing short little digital show-lettes that will appears on HBO NOW and HBO GO every now and again. I think they probably have bigger plans for him down the road, but right now it sounded to me like this is something he can do probably from the farm while his kids are at school and his wife is out with the animals and they'll still all be back together for dinner every night.

The only real details about the HBO show are that its a production deal so Jon may be looking at producing content for them rather than appearing in front of the camera. Most of HBO's shows are no more than weekly and / or a limited series run which is far less demanding than a nightly show.
At any rate I'm doubtful we'll see anything from him before next spring / summer which is a nice break from the grind of TDS.
Any hey maybe after 15 years of doing pretty much the same thing every night he wanted a break and then the chance to do something totally different?
