Just wanted to throw in a reminder that MEW was also married at the time she started up with Ewan. They were both cheating on spouses.

I’m sure MEW wasn’t the first woman he cheated on his wife with. He was publicly snapped walking arm in arm with his co-star Mélanie Laurent several years ago. If they were that comfortable acting like that in public I can only imagine how comfortable the two of them were when the cameras weren’t around.

Ewan has been blatantly cheating on his wife probably since they got married. Either they had an open marriage or she just looked the other way for a long time. People rarely actually break up existing relationships for the woman or man they have the side. They have someone on the side to begin with because there's something not working in the relationship. I highly doubt that Ewan would still be with his wife if not for MEW. He'd either be living the bachelor life or be someone else.

I said what the daughter did was not cool on Celebitchy and got slammed. LOL. Truth his, the daughter is 22. Her ideal of her family and what her parents marriage was like is probably not how things really were; and she went out of her way to slam MEW which was totally unnecessary. I'm just over people using social media to air grievances or invade other people's privacy (plane bae - GROSS) and she's old enough to know better. I bet she is angry at her father and upset / sad that her family is not together -- but go to therapy, talk to your parents, and deal with that shit.

I saw one of those posts. It was a big picture of Mary Elizabeth and she had done some sort of weird affect her eyes – that swirly, you’ve been hypnotized effect – and put it in ha ha ha ha all over it.

I followed you in on Instagram and noticed that right after the Golden Globes when he won for Fargo, that he wasn’t posting anymore. I think I might’ve seen him comment on one person‘s Instagram but that was it. One of his other daughters, Esther, did have a picture on her Instagram with Ewan and the other two daughters.

Other than that, there have been a lot of posts from Clara and Esther as well as Eve sharing their trips. They’ve been traveling a good bit together. I think they went to Mexico right after all of the divorce stuff broke in the media and then they went to Iceland very recently. Gorgeous pictures of beautiful vacations.

The way I see it, the outsider (the "homewrecker") is easier for the family to hate unmitigatedly because they don't have any existing emotional bonds to that person. Hating your father is a lot harder to do (not that his daughters seem to have let Ewan off the hook).

His daughters probably see MEW as the obstacle that's keeping their family apart, and they probably aren't wrong. If MEW weren't in the picture, it's possible Ewan and Eve might be together. They were together for a long, long time and seemed to really love each other.

Both Ewan and MWE are to blame. Ewan cheated on and left his wife for another woman. MWE got involved with a man she knew was married and had four kids - and she remained involved with him knowing that he wrecked his family in order to be with her. It's all wrong. I'm actually ok with Clara shaming either of them publicly - they deserve it.

I agree with this too. I feel like cheaters get away with their bad behavior because everyone around them is expected to take the high road.

It might not have been cool and it would have been more mature not to post. But this wasn't some nobody cheating on his wife. Ewan is in the public eye, his family has been in the public eye. I've heard whispers about him cheating for years, but outside of that one pic walking arm in arm, which really proved nothing - he's been fairly discreet. His affair with MEW was a different story. Neither of them were at all discreet. If you're going to do stuff like that in the public eye, humiliating your family or another woman's family ...well then Karma.
