Princess Ingrid had her confirmation ceremony last week. Love their traditional dresses! Nice to see the European royals showed up for her, too. They are her godparents.

I've often wondered that. They do that in Sweden too, the men will be wearing suits and the women will be wearing fancy kerchiefs and folk dresses.

Meanwhile, I think it's lovely that they included Mette Marit's older son in the family photos. It cannot be easy having the Crown Prince of Norway as your stepfather.

I'm guessing the just don't want to? The Norwegian folk dress is the bunad, and the men's is derpier looking than the women's.

If you scroll down in the link, there's some boys dancing in the second photo, and further down a couple carrying Norwegian flags who are both in folk dress. (My oldest son is also marching with the Ballard HS band although he's not in that photo.)

I didn't know she has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. That's awful - it's progressive and inexorable, a truly terrible disease.

I know next to nothing about the Norwegian royals. Until I learn a reason otherwise, I now love Mette Marit and Haakon.

I can't believe Ingrid Alexandra is 18! We all were here when her parents embarked on their crazy scandalous love affair, and now she's 18! Where have the years gone!?
